dig-it = to economize

GAONG

As adjective that means "not fat," GAONG--in its most literal sense---can only refer to crabs. And in crab-talk, gaong is the antonym of oligihan.

However, in its figurative sense, GAONG can mean two things:

"DULL" if applied to a person, and

"EMPTY or HALF-EMPTY" if applied to a house. This archaic Tagon-on came to popular use when houses were humongous and one needed the services of a towing company to move his equally humongous furniture and furnishing. But in the present craze of zen-living, this meaning of gaong is rendered, well, archaic, if not totally meaningless.


Sample usage:

1. Inin tagbanwa na alimango, laong taraw nan ga siger na oligihan, GAONG sa gani.

2. Kausik da nan inin si Thelma, ka guapa, ka husay, ka nanuy mo kanta, ka lihiro mo mudansa galing kay GAONG pa sa tanan yangamatay na lambay!

3. Matay ka badingae taraw ton paghuya ni Alfeo ambaya GAONG, agad dakan garo mitad sa dupa na Maharani ningari mo.
