A Crusade to Reinstate SPC Sisters in Purisima School

Unread post by Paulinians »

I am a full-blooded Paulinian. I spent my entire high school years in Purisima School and graduated my bachelor's degree in St. Paul University. Please help me in this crusade to reinstate SPC Sisters' administration in Purisima School.

Let's bring back the glory of Purisimian spirit.....a Paulinian spirit.

So every Purisimians would chant the same hymn such as:

Hark, sons and daughters of St. Paul!
Come, listen to his call,
O children of this loved school,
The loving nurse of all.

Rejoice in God, do work and pray,
Be true from day to day.
Beloved school of mine,
My pains and joys are thine.
My childhood's early dreams
Are closely linked with thee.
The hope that Heaven brings
Thou dost unfold to me. (2x)

Sweet are the days of childhood
With friends we love and care,
Those golden links of childhood
Whose sympathy we share.

Do stay and while the hours away
With us in work and play,
And when we leave our dear old school
These mem'ries we'll recall. (2x)

how can we help?

Paulinians,

This is a very good suggestion. In fact one batchmate of ours, Edwin Pelosas, wants this to be our next project (we had just celebrated our silver anniversary and we had turned over our "adopt-a-room-project" to purisima school) which we all find to be quite herculean.

there are things that need to be clarified first. Like: Are the SPC sisters willing to go back to Tago and run Purisima School? If yes, what's their minimum requirement?

I had it from a very reliable source that SPC sisters will only go back to Tago and run Purisima School if ownership---REPEAT, OWNERSHIP AND NOT JUST MANAGEMENT---will be awarded to them. Understandably, the model here is San Nicolas College, whose ownership was awarded by the Diocese of Surigao to SPC, thus the new name, Saint Paul College-Surigao.

This brings me to the greatest hurdle: Will the Diocese of Tandag as the rightful owner of Purisima School agree to the demand of SPC? Anything short of that kills whatever dream there is.

The last time we---then PSAA officers---put this on the negotiation table with Bishop Amantillo, it didn't merit an elaboration from the Bishop. It could be a clue, but still, hope springs eternal.

I fully support this plan. But let's put things in proper perspective to make better strategic moves.

Hi Paulinians! I'll support this crusade. Count me in. Do we have to bring rally placards to Diocesed of Tandag? :-D

I agree with k-spy, we need to formulate a strategy for us to achieve this plan. Let's bring on the purisimian think-tanks on the floor. The thread is now open for suggestions and recommendations. :roll :roll :roll

I think we should have a statistics on how many purisimians & tagon-ons are willing to support & consent this plan. To aid us in cropping up a figure, a poll question is now embedded in the thread.
