THE K OF C MEN'S CHOIR OF TAGO

Unread post by alanquinonez »

The choir was established on November 10,2009, in response to the Parish Priest ( Fr. Ricky Cortes ) challenge and request for a new choir for the second masses every Sunday. The original choir performs only at the first 6:00 a.m Sunday masses and other special masses.

The incumbent Grand Knight then, Engr. Francisco M. Acevedo, Jr. immediately formed the choir composed mostly of K OF C members and a few non-members. A young choir trainor/ Pianist Mr. Bogs Paderes of Aras-Asan, Cagwait volunteered to train the members and in a matter of one week, the K of C Men’s choir was established and performed starting on November 16, 2010 church second mass on Sundays.

It was the very encouraging initial successful performances which drew raves from locales and visitors alike with the new songs and masterful piano accompaniment from Mr. Parades.

A major problem followed when Mr. Paderes could no longer perform with the choir due to his hectic schedules forming choirs in other parishes and his work as instructor at the SDS Polytechnic State College, depriving the choir of a permanent organist/pianist.

However, the problem was solved and performances of the choir continued with self-taught Tagon-on organists' determined efforts to learn how to play the church organ.

The rest is history. Today, the choir prevailed with more members in regular attendance. Hopefully, with the assistance from generous Tagon-ons other choir needs will be acquired and utilized for better performance.

Wow, kudos to the new K of C Men's choir of Tago!

The pics’ blurry appearance didn’t deter me from recognizing some notable and handsome faces. They are Iyo Acoy, Manongs Shem, David, Bolon, Alan & Al Espinoza & Ike Uriarte.

Congratulations to our new choir!
